No .. I don't get upset if they sneak in and have a chew here and there.
I got a heads up they were close when we did Spring clean up .. there were "bunny beans" around.
I have no idea what they were eating because I tend to clean up too well.
I couldn't resist the "shy" finch picture .. it just seemed so sweet .. we feed the finches, blue jays, doves, gorgeous RED cardinals and wives ? LOL .. plus a few more little creature souls.
Life is hard .. if we can make it easier on them we feel we should, they give us a lot of pleasure.
Now for just flower pictures over a week ago .. maybe more because the garden is truly springing forth and it is hard to catch up with it all and do posts of "real time" pictures.
The Dutchman's Breeches have doubled and they look very cute.
The hellebore bed survived what I thought was a killing frost a while back, so that is a relief !
So just some pretty pictures to see .. no thinking required ?
Pink Frost
Berry Swirl
Golden Sunrise
Green Lotus
Royal Heritage
Orientalis .. a species related to the buttercup family !

Ahhh, I love you sweet bunny and am so pleased to hear you don't run them out of town as so many gardeners do. That shy finch is adorable. I haven't seen Duchman's Breeches before, how lovely! Yay...your spring has sprung.xxx
How exciting, the anticipation of all that lovliness that these sprouts are bringing. Your photos are exquisite. Dutchman's Breeches I have don't bloom. I might have made a mistake this week but I moved mine to a place where they will get a bit more moisture. I hope they take and bloom next year. We are expecting a possible record low here tonight. Definitely frost and maybe a freeze. My poor hostas were mush already once this spring. The big red rose has more blooms on it than it ever has had and I am afraid they will be frozen off. Sigh~~ we will see what happens. This has been a strange year weather-wise so far.
Indeed, slowly but surely! It is glorious to see them blossom.
Hello there Snowbird and thank you ! .. Yes Spring has tried it's best to swoop ? in here ...last night we had quite the frost though .. but nice and sunny (even if cool) today !
Lisa girl .. you speaking about the frost issue ? .. it happened here last night too !
I just got a load of native plants in yesterday before the rain hit .. so with being closed in with my high fence and lots of good mixed earth surrounding everything .. I am thinking they are all ok .. so far ? LOL
Thank you so much about my photos .. sometimes they are a bit rushed but it does track a good record of what is happening when .. and YES ! this year the weather has been wacky indeed !
Those "Breeches" should be fine .. mine multiplied after so many years as one single small plant so I love seeing that .. and they tend to flower intermittently all year too, I'm sure yours will be fine !
I have my fingers grossed for you with the rose and hosta .. I know that would be so disappointing .. better days ahead ? LOL
Hi Jen .. you are so right ... it was VERY slowly this year .. one of the slowest if not THE slowest I have seen !
The hellebores are gorgeous Joy. I say every year at this time I wish I had some, and then I forget to plant them. Chilly weather for the next couple of days. Hope you are keeping busy during these stay at home days. I've had several projects on the go all the time. I can't believe how fast the time is going. One thing I don't need to be doing is baking, well the baking is okay it's the eating part I shouldn't be doing. I had better wear a mask inside all the time to deter that!
OH I ADORE THIS POST! Love love love that you have a friendly backyard bunny :) Your whole side path looks perfect and so neat and tidy and yet again you blow me away with your hellebores! I love them but never grow them, I think I've just had a bad experience with one variety at the allotment plot and been to scared to try again.
HUGS and LOVE
C xx
Linda you made me laugh so much ! Thank You ! .. I am glad not to be the only one who finds "nibbling"? a problem when I am not doing something to occupy my time .. we will both be wearing masks ? LOL .. I bought my first hellebore so long ago I can't remember, maybe 18 years ? .. and it became a love affair .. some years are better than other years for blooms.
But OH ! when they bloom ? it just makes me so happy, try one, you won't be able to stop?LOL
Hello Carrie sweetie ! .. I was thrilled to be able to catch a photo of the bunny and i made a mental note not to cut back as much this Fall so they can have more to eat.
Plants are "popping" every day now and it is crazy .. although we are in for some COLD weather again and maybe even some snow .. it is crazy .. so I do worry for the garden.
Hey .. if you can find a simple sturdy hellebore .. like an "orientalis" strain. You shouldn't have a problem .. some times it takes a couple of years for them to really show
off for you .. maybe keep it in a pot ?
Keep an eye on those bunnies, is all I can say. Love that picture of the Dutchman's Breeches. We had some, but they disappeared.
Hi Jason ... yup, I know ... rabbits can be a bit of a pain .. but for now I can't complain about seeing him ? her ? LOL
You can't help but smile at those funny breeches right ? .. I was glad to see they multiplied!
